Windsor, CT – (June 17, 2010/ 1PM) – Around 10am, residents of the Pallisado Drive area, notice a white van park in the neighborhood. Residents reported that 2 middle age white males were taking items out of a house in the neighborhood. “ Ten AM today. We got a 911 call that there was suspicious activity going on and men were stealing from a house. Windsor police got the description and notice the vehicle traveling south on RT 159. Officers follow the white van, which had stolen CT., Plates entering I-291 EAST. Police continued to follow while back up was en-route. Windsor officers notice the van was pulling over on the side of the highway just prior to exit 4, South Windsor/East Hartford line. The suspects than ran out of the van and down the side of the highway, into the woods along the CT river. After support arrived from East Hartford, South Windsor and CT. ST. PD. As well as CT. ST. PD. Air support. The suspect were seen by area East Hartford residents reporting the suspects coming out of the woods, and to the rear of the bowling ally on RT. 5. Were police arrested one suspect and about an hour later around 2 PM the 2nd suspect was caught near Main ST East Hartford. , Said Capt Thomas Lapore, Windsor PD. The suspect captured were; The driver: Joseph Boisuert of Southbury, CT., AGE 48. And Richard Wise, 38 of Waterbury. The suspects were trying to steal copper from the house, and had stolen plates, said Windsor PD. - Sgt. Scott P. Custer of the South Windsor Police dept. provided their info on the assistance. – Windsor Police pursued a car onto the Bissell Bridge; the 2 occupants bailed out and jumped over the guardrail, fleeing into the woods and swamp area along the Connecticut River. We offered local support to Windsor Police and we assisted in the search for the suspects. Canine units from Windsor and the CSP tracked for the subjects who were eventually located. One male was found in a field behind the 10 Pin Bowling Alley, the other was arrested alongside the river over 1⁄2 mile from the bridge. The two arrested were turned over to Windsor Police for their charges. We were fortunate to have several local resources available today, including the East Hartford Police marine unit and the state police airplane. Those resources helped search an area that is inaccessible to vehicles. No one was hurt and the agencies worked extremely well together in a successfully coordinated effort to locate the suspects.
